About the role

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, and Program Director, Medical Physics, Department of Health Physics and Diagnostic Sciences, School of Integrated Health Sciences [R0150483].

Responsibilities

  • Providing guidance with all medical physics programs
  • Serving as the point of contact for communications between UNLV and CAMPEP
  • Serving as an advisor/mentor to medical physics students
  • Participating in clinical site visits
  • Participating in exams to evaluate clinical competency of students
  • Participating in department seminars (e.g. giving presentations to students about clinical physics, job opportunities, etc.)
  • Participating in curriculum review
  • Establishing an active research program supported with extramural funding
  • Teaching in the department’s medical physics programs
  • Service duties in accordance with university criteria

Requirements

  • A PhD or other doctoral degree in medical physics or a closely related discipline from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
  • In order to serve as Program Director, the individual must be certified in therapeutic medical physics by the American Board of Radiology, the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine or another appropriate certifying agency and have at least five years of full-time post-graduate experience in the field.
