Assistant/Associate Engineer
About the role
The Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) seeks to fill up to two (2) or more Assistant and/or Associate Engineer positions within the Engineering Department. These positions may also include project-funded roles contingent upon the continuation of the Contra Costa Canal Replacement Program.
Responsibilities
- Prepares engineering plans, specifications, studies, and reports; conducts site visits to monitor construction project progress.
- Manages assigned projects, ensuring critical tasks and priorities are identified and addressed to keep projects on track.
- Affirms and manages risks related to project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Acts as a technical resource, providing expertise and guidance across various CCWD initiatives.
- Administers consultant contracts, coordinates efforts between consultants and project stakeholders to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: Possession of the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an invitation to the next step in the selection process.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate issued by the State of California.
- Experience: At least 3 years of professional engineering-related experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Schedule
Typically, the schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, some travel and evening work may be required depending on project needs.
