Job Information
The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University (FIU) is seeking an Assistant/Associate Dean for Professional Development and Continuing Medical Education. This role will lead the development and delivery of professional development programs for clinical faculty, undergraduate medical education teaching faculty, and all continuing medical education (CME) activities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for evaluating teaching and learning environments, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and maintaining data for accreditation and continuous quality improvement (CQI) processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- An MD or PhD degree
- At least five years of experience as an Assistant or Associate Professor
- A minimum of three years of experience in academic/educational leadership or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in faculty development within medical education
- Experience with LCME and ACGME accreditation standards
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven experience in working collaboratively with other departments, administrators, and university stakeholders
- Evidence of a commitment to mentoring and developing faculty
