Job Duties
- Cook up and execute all intake and admissions functions to get clients into new programs.
- Read and interpret clinical reports from referral packets and accurately assess client's suitability for treatment.
- Participate in a committee to decide if a client is suitable for services and arrange their placement in the right treatment unit.
- Converse with clients, their families, and referral sources to address concerns, collect necessary information, and help clients smoothly enter treatment units.
- Show proficient writing skills and produce clear, grammatically correct documents on time according to Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and corporate guidelines.
- Operate as a bridge between the assigned treatment centers and maintain good communication with other departments and agencies.
- Display proficiency with computers and carry out necessary data entry using KidsPeace's Information System.
- Keep meticulous records of phone inquiries for Client Services and Leadership.
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation in compliance with Medical Assistance funding regulations.
- Show comprehensive understanding of KidsPeace's services and direct callers to the relevant programs when needed.
- Persistently maintain positive relationships with referral sources through personal interactions and appreciation letters.
- Perform other tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma is mandatory.
- An Associate's Degree is preferred.
- Experience working with acutely emotionally challenged children or adolescents is preferred.
- A valid driver's license and First Aid/CPR certifications are required.
- Excellent personal computer skills are essential.
- The candidate must be at least 21 years old.
- Attend 12 hours of Person Centered Thinking training before or within 90 days of starting the job.
