Assistant Administrator
Overview
Elderwood at Cheektowaga is seeking an Assistant Administrator to help lead facility operations and support exceptional care, service, and organizational performance. We are intentionally considering candidates at different stages of their healthcare leadership careers.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Administrator in supporting day-to-day facility operations
- Build strong working relationships with nursing, human resources, admissions, business office, social services, rehabilitation, dining, environmental services, and other department leaders
- Help monitor operational priorities, quality initiatives, regulatory requirements, and performance goals
- Support a responsive, service-focused experience for residents and families
- Aid in addressing concerns and ensuring appropriate follow-through
- Strengthen communication and accountability across departments
- Participate in leadership meetings, operational reviews, and improvement initiatives
- Identify barriers affecting residents, employees, admissions, or facility performance
- Support employee engagement and a positive, respectful workplace culture
- Develop the operational knowledge and leadership capabilities needed for future Administrator opportunities
Qualifications
- Pursuing an Administrator-in-Training pathway or currently holding a Nursing Home Administrator license
- Leadership experience in assisted living and desire to broaden healthcare operations background
- Understanding of how strong service, communication, and follow-through influence resident and family trust
- Ability to balance competing priorities while remaining visible, composed, and responsive
- Build productive relationships across clinical and nonclinical departments
- Take ownership, follow through on commitments, and address problems constructively
- Motivation to develop a deeper understanding of skilled nursing operations, quality, and regulatory performance
- Motivated to grow into greater healthcare leadership responsibility
