Assistant Account Executive, Public Relations - Travel, Wine, & Spirits
About the role
BPCM is looking for an energetic, positive Assistant Account Executive to join our growing Travel, Wine and Spirits team. This entry-level role offers the opportunity to build a strong portfolio of media placements in top publications, connect with top-tier industry contacts, drive impactful media coverage through strategic and creative pitch angles, and support the planning and implementation of VIP events. You’ll work in a fun, fashion-forward environment with high-end luxury clients in the lifestyle and hospitality industries, particularly Travel and Wine & Spirits brands.
Responsibilities
- Assist the team in updating weekly and monthly client reports.
- Monitor coverage and deliver press clippings to clients in a timely manner.
- Draft and contribute to all necessary media and client materials, including fact sheets, press releases, bios, and media alerts.
- Develop creative pitch angles and proactively reach out to targeted media contacts under the direction of your line manager.
- Handle correspondence with external entities for general day-to-day press requests.
- Establish and maintain strong media relationships with key editors.
- Brainstorm creative partnership and activation ideas for clients.
- Assist with the creation of strategic short- and long-term PR plans for clients.
- Track industry trends and identify relevant opportunities for clients.
- Support the Travel, Wine & Spirits team with event production, organization, and setup of special events.
- Be available to work events across the company.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience within a PR department (agency or in-house).
- A true interest in luxury lifestyle PR and the travel and spirits industries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Proven results with top-tier media outlets.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and ability to juggle multiple client accounts to meet deadlines.

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this position is $40,000 - $43,000 annually. Actual compensation depends on factors including skill set, level of experience, and location.
Schedule
This role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the Brooklyn office.
