Assistant Account Executive – Manufacturing Public Relations
About the role
We seek applicants for this Assistant Account Executive (AAE) role who reside in the metropolitan NYC area. The weekly work schedule is 1-2 days in the office and the balance of weekdays working from home remotely. We are seeking qualified metro NYC area public relations candidates who have at least 1 prior year of public relations work history (in an agency or in a corporation) or have 1 year of prior PR agency internship experience, have already earned a bachelor’s degree, have excellent writing skills and are ready for immediate hire for this full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Helping execute several client programs as directed by our mid-level and senior staff, including keeping teams and deliverables organized, ensuring they meet internal or client requirements and verifying that work is performed to established standards.
- Writing, proofreading and editing client-related content, including media pitches, press releases, thought leadership articles, social media copy, etc. This includes the ability to review and digest our clients’ technical documents and data to use as a basis for creating content.
- Drafting pitches and conducting media outreach to generate targeted coverage in print and online trade and business media and developing and maintaining media lists.
- Monitoring, tracking and reporting coverage of client news and competitor developments across channels and platforms.
- Cultivating relationships with key client contacts as well as the media.
- Providing account management support, including meeting agenda and recap development, program reporting, etc.
- Being an active participant in team and client meetings and brainstorms.
- Supporting new business initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR, journalism or a related field.
- 1+ year(s) of prior full-time PR work experience in a public relations agency or in the PR/Communications Dept. of a corporation. An equivalent amount of prior PR internship experience is also acceptable.
- Aptitude for understanding and interest in technology-based businesses.
- Outstanding writing and verbal skills.
- Exposure to media relations, including developing pitches and/or engaging with the media to generate earned coverage.
- Understanding of and experience using a range of monitoring, measurement and social media tools is preferred but not required.
- Strong work ethic, enthusiastic attitude and curious nature.

Pay
Available Salary Range: $21.64/hour – $26.44/hour for this full-time, hourly/non-exempt, direct hire position. Salary is commensurate with experience and dependent upon the location.
