Primary Responsibilities
- Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
- Absorb and address financial services needs, including one-on-one counseling, consultation with commanders, and referrals.
- Work closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program is within scope and meets installation needs.
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families.
- Coordinate and conduct various Personal Financial Management classes and workshops, covering topics relevant to the military lifecycle.
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication, such as web-based, secure online chat, or video-based communications.
- Manage duty-to-warn situations according to DoD protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision and training sessions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience, or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
- If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
- Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Driver's license, valid in state, preferred.

- Effective utilization of virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of military lifecycle and financial services.
