Assets Protection Specialist

Responsibilities
- Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, initiating interactions, and resolving issues.
- Monitor guests and identify potential theft risks using Target's video surveillance system.
- Implement Target's Assets Protection practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortage.
- Properly and effectively document cases.
- Identify strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud, and apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
- Understand and appropriately use video systems to monitor theft activity.
- Respond to security incidents and submit appropriate documentation for all incidents following AP policy and procedures.
- Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
- Maintain positive work relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement.
- Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target’s interests.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
- Effective communication skills.
- Work both independently and with a team.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays).
- Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.
Skills
- Surveillance and intelligence-led tactics.
- Target's video surveillance system.
- Understanding and appropriate use of video systems.
- Apprehending subjects in accordance with company policy.

Pay
The starting pay range for this position per hour is $27.25 - $29.25. The full pay range for this position per hour is $27.25 - $46.30. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.
Schedule
This role requires a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays).
