About the role

The Assets Protection Specialist plays a crucial role in keeping guests, team members, and the brand secure. This role involves monitoring guests for potential theft risks, implementing Target's Assets Protection practices, and resolving theft issues.

Responsibilities

Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, helping them find items, and resolving issues.
Use surveillance and intelligence-led tactics to keep team members and guests safe.
Monitor guests using Target's video surveillance system to identify potential theft risks.
Implement Target's Assets Protection practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortage.
Properly and effectively document cases.
Identify strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud, and apprehend subjects.
Understand and appropriately use video systems to monitor theft activity.
Respond to security incidents and submit appropriate documentation for all incidents following AP policy and procedures.
Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
Maintain positive work relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement.
Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target’s interests.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
Effective communication skills
Work both independently and with a team
Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Qualifications

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds without additional assistance from others
Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays)
Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)

Pay

The starting pay range for this position per hour is $24.25 - $26.25. The full pay range for this position per hour is $24.25 - $41.25. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.

Schedule

This role requires a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
