Asset Protection Supervisor - 59th Street

The Hourly Manager, Asset Protection (HMAP) supports Asset Protection (AP) Management in leading the implementation and execution of all necessary asset protection programs, including external and internal investigations, shortage control, and safety programs. As the HMAP, you will hire, train, develop, and coach the performance of AP Associates, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures related to external apprehensions, record retention, shortage control, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships and open lines of communication between Asset Protection, Store Leadership, Store Associates, Central Asset Protection, and peer Asset Protection teams.
- Communicate safety and shortage action plans/programs in partnership with Store Leadership.
- Build collaborative relationships with the store leadership team and local law enforcement.
- Source, interview, and hire colleagues for the AP team to build a high-functioning team.
- Ensure all newly hired AP colleagues complete new hire training and orientation and transition into Bloomingdale’s culture.
- Conduct and supervise internal investigations and external protection programs, ensuring staff follows all policies and procedures related to apprehensions, CCTV usage, and record retention.
- Provide regular feedback to AP colleagues, coaching behaviors and using performance management tools to drive results.
- Train, administer, and enforce all AP policies, standards, procedures, equipment usage, and safety criteria.
- Maintain building security, including opening and closing the building when appropriate.
- Report all non-productive detainments immediately to the Regional Director of AP or appropriate Central AP partner.
- Schedule self and staff to support store needs while staying within budgeted hours.
- Educate selling and support colleagues on key aspects of asset protection and safety to build awareness.
- Train and coach AP staff to execute all components of the Safety Program and complete detailed analysis of customer/employee accidents to address causes and prevent repetition.
- Provide a safe environment for customers and associates, including executing emergency preparedness and physical security measures.
- Understand all store goals and plans, informing the AP team of store initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of direct experience.
- Must satisfy licensing requirements (as required by state or local jurisdiction).

- Resourceful self-starter; works well independently and as part of a team, adapting quickly to changing priorities.

Schedule
Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
