Asset Protection & Safety Mgr
About the Role
All Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products customers need. As an Asset Protection & Safety Manager, you will:
- Help the Store Operational Leadership team ensure associates deliver friendly, professional, and timely service to all customers.
- Monitor receiving, shipping, and selling patterns for the assigned store.
- Champion initiatives and establish processes and controls to improve safety/hazmat, shrink, and security outcomes.
- Oversee and coordinate programs to minimize loss while maintaining a safe working and shopping environment.
- Monitor and address criminal activities, coach and train associates, and manage inventory levels to reduce shrink and shortages.
- Respond to violent altercations to ensure the safety of customers and staff.
- Serve as an expert on safety reports, guidelines, and regulations.
Travel Requirements: This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel may be needed for meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores.
Schedule
- Hourly Full Time: Generally scheduled 39 to 40 hours per week; more hours may be required based on store needs.
- Hourly Part Time: Generally scheduled up to 25 hours per week; more hours may be required based on store needs.
- Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week.
Requirements
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher, OR
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of relevant work experience (e.g., retail or Asset Protection).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Safety, Business, or a related Asset Protection field.
- National certified training program (e.g., Wicklander-Zuwalski or Reed training).
- Professional accreditation (e.g., APQ, APC) or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience directly or indirectly supervising employees, including coaching, mentoring, directing, training, performance management, and recognition.
- 2 years of experience as a Manager in a retail environment.
- 1 year of experience conducting quality reviews/audits.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing business documents (e.g., P&L, exception reports).
- Demonstrated experience conducting retail investigations (i.e., has conducted multiple retail investigations).
- Experience using physical security systems (e.g., CCTV, EAS).
