ASSET Payroll & Workforce Administration Supervisor
About the role
The ASSET Payroll & Workplace Administration (PWA) Supervisor provides immediate supervision for a group of payroll analysts. The supervisor creates and oversees the team's daily workflow, assigns work and monitors employee output. The supervisor also assigns tasks, trains, mentors, evaluates staff performance, conducts one-on-ones, and manages team operations.
Responsibilities

- Review and audit transactions, reports, and payroll data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Create and prepare reports, manage data, and ensure accuracy in written communications
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and defined internal controls
- Ensure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental standards and procedures
Requirements
4 - 7 years of related experience. Previous supervisory/managerial experience.
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of payroll function
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in payroll systems, general office software applications, and payroll reporting software
- Supervisory skills and experience, and service orientation
- Working knowledge of UC or UCR policies, procedures and systems
- Knowledge of bargaining unit agreements
Benefits
UCR is committed to providing competitive compensation and benefits. The full salary range for the ASSET Payroll & Workplace Administration Supervisor is $68,500 - $121,900 annually. However, the budgeted salary range for this position is up to $95,200 annually. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position.
