What You Will Do in This Role

  • Facilitates response to a request for services
  • Conducts initial evaluation and initiates the assessment
  • Documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs
  • Provides information to MD for LOC determination
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
  • Possesses clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes
  • Possesses clear knowledge of EMTALA
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing or relevant state licensure required
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred
  • Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities
  • Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact
