Responsibilities
- Receives inquiry calls and assists callers with scheduling a face-to-face assessment or triage to the appropriate community referral.
- Affirms or ensures an assessment by a qualified mental health professional for patients presenting for assessment.
- Performs a comprehensive assessment and provides quality therapeutic care to patients seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric or emotional disorders; coordinates with the clinical team and on-call physician to ensure these needs are met.
- Interprets treatment to patients and families to help reduce fear and other attitudes that obstruct acceptance of care and continuation of treatment.
- Completes the administrative processes of admission and precertification of care with external payers, as necessary.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work or counseling required, or RN licensure in place of a master’s degree or per state regulations.
- LBSW Now Accepted!
- Current unencumbered clinical social work, counseling license or per state of practice guidelines. RN license accepted.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CPR and CPI certified within 30 days.
