Assessment Specialist PRN

Responsibilities

• Assists callers with scheduling a face-to-face assessment or triage to the appropriate community referral.
• Affirms or ensures an assessment by a qualified mental health professional for patients presenting for assessment.
• Screens for medical and behavioral emergencies.
• Performs a comprehensive assessment and provides quality therapeutic care to patients seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric or emotional disorders.
• Collaborates with the clinical team and on-call physicians to ensure patients' needs are met either at the facility or other appropriate community providers.
• Interprets treatment plans to patients and families to reduce fear and other barriers to care and treatment continuation.
• Completes administrative processes for admission and precertification of care with external payers, as needed.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work or counseling and licensure required (LMSW, LPCA, LMFTA, LCSW, LCISW, etc).
• Current unencumbered clinical social work, counseling license or according to state practice guidelines.
• CPR and CPI certification within 30 days.
• Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred.
