This critical management position is responsible for administering countywide assessment programs, including property tax exemptions, exclusions, deferrals and special classifications. This position is also responsible for leading community engagement efforts and planning, organizing and directing the administrative functions of the department under the general direction of the County Assessor/Department Director in accordance with Hennepin County core values, mission, and vision. Location and hours: This position is hybrid and will be located at the Hennepin County Government Center, 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487 and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. About The Position Type This is a full-time, benefit-earning position. This position is internally classified as an Administrative Manager, Senior. In This Position, You Will Oversee the administration of assessment programs throughout the county, ensuring consistent application in accordance with the law.Analyze the operational impact of changes in existing and pending legislation that affect the administration of assessment programs; advise and collaborate with state and county staff on drafting/revising legislation while collaborating with external stakeholders regarding potential impacts.Oversee community engagement efforts to maximize enrollment and racial equity in benefit programs.Plan, organize, and direct the administrative functions of the department under the general direction of the County Assessor/Department Director. Lead division-level people management, including supervising staff, setting clear expectations, providing coaching and performance feedback, supporting professional development, managing workload and priorities, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.Provide recommended strategic changes to divisional processes, including hiring, staff development, and business processes; evaluate operational performance, review work methods, and procedures; develop and implement changes in business processes and workflow, as needed.Coordinate implementation of new processes, enhancements, and upgrades, recommend testing strategies, and initiate tactical responses to issues as they arise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Coordinate projects and assigned services and activities with other divisions, departments, and external partners. Need To Have One of the following:Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, or other field appropriate to the position and five years or more of experience in the planning and administration of organizational operations or programs.Nine or more years of experience in the planning and administration of organizational operations or programs. Develop and implement testing strategies for new processes or technology upgrades.
