Responsibilities
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Escalates all unsafe conditions for prompt resolution and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to department supervisor immediately.
- Accurately follows work assignments including:
- Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assembly
- Material handling
- Standard housekeeping
- Safety and quality audits
- Performs multiple processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies using hand tools and power pneumatic tooling.
- Reads and interprets schematics and drawings, communicating with engineers as necessary.
- Checks inventory of assigned tasks and areas daily; reports potential parts shortages to prevent stock outages.
- Abides by methods and procedures directed by management.
- Assists with maintenance on company equipment when necessary.
- May perform occasional welding, machining, finishing, etc., within existing personal capabilities.
- Executes safety and facility improvement projects.
- Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Work overtime beyond 40 hours/week dependent on varying business needs.
- Stand and walk on a concrete surface for extended periods (approximately 3 hours each) throughout a standard work shift.
- Perform repetitive motions specifically for hands and fingers requiring good dexterity.
- Endure long periods of sitting, reach overhead, and bend, crouch, or kneel to floor level to access parts and components.
- Occasionally ascend and descend work platform stairs at varying heights.
- Work in awkward positions and on a mechanics creeper at floor level.
