About the role
The Moog Space and Defense Group in Chatsworth, CA is seeking an Assembly/Harnessing Technician to join their dynamic team. This role reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and works on first shift.
Responsibilities
- Assemble high reliability chassis and final assemblies using circuit cards, standoffs, wire harnesses, solder and crimping, electrical and mechanical instruments.
- Perform high reliability soldering and crimping operations on complex sub-assemblies, electronic, and mechanical assemblies, repair of circuit boards, jumper wires, and wire harnesses.
- Decipher and work from assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications, and other instructions, both written and oral.
- Know and follow applicable Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) procedures.
- Work in concert with Product Engineering in diagnosing and proposing the necessary rework on models that are intricate in structure and design.
- Perform running harnessing and working with motion control pointing mechanisms as required.
- Work closely with engineering to innovate testing procedures and suggest changes in worksheet processes.
- Clean components to required cleanliness levels. Maintain traceability records, MDC forms and configuration records on controlled programs.
- Work on repair units normally run with production units.
- May be required to travel to customer facilities and service Moog hardware.
Requirements
- HS Diploma (or equivalent) is required.
- Additional training from a technical/vocational school always valued!
- 5+ years of experience in electrical assembly and soldering.
- Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. Aerospace, Medical Devices/FDA etc.).
- J-STD solder certification required; NASA Certification preferred.
- Ability to work directly from engineering drawings and written instructions.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Skills
- Electrical assembly and soldering experience.
- High reliability soldering and crimping operations.
- Working knowledge of assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications, and other instructions.
- Knowledge of Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) procedures.
- Interpersonal skills.
