About the role

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an Assembly Technician III, 2nd Shift at 517 Puckett Ferry Road in Greenwood, SC. The rate for this position is $20.94 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential. The core hours are Monday through Thursday from 4:30pm until 1:30am and Friday from 3:30pm until 7:30pm. This position is eligible for a variable pay incentive.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, wire, fit, and modify complicated work in the manufacture of medium and high voltage, indoor and outdoor assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, customer service orders, power modules, and any sub-assemblies associated with these.
  • Fill out ISO checklists, quality checklists, customer checklists, feedback forms, and production lists for supervision, drafting, customer service, and engineering as required.
  • Mount and install electrical equipment and perform wire operations as needed.
  • Regularly lift and assemble with heavy copper parts.
  • Maintain minimum levels of Kanban inventory and report shortages to appropriate operators.
  • Inspect all assemblies for loose or missing hardware and cleanliness.
  • Respond to change notices, customer requested adjustments, and development needs.
  • Aid engineering, drafting, and supervision with customer-initiated development work.
  • Work to manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, written or oral instructions from supervision or Engineering to established procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year of assembly experience.
  • 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Strong experience in reading Manufacturing Information (MI).
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent.

Physical Demands

  • Stand, walk, or sit for periods of time.
  • Reach at or above shoulder level; use hands to handle, feel, and grip materials or tools.
  • Stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull as part of regular job duties.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Push or pull loads up to or exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Use near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination.
