UCT is seeking an experienced and talented Assembly Technician III to build complex mechanical and electrical assemblies, ensuring precision and quality throughout the production process. This role performs testing, troubleshooting, and helium leak detection, while interpreting schematics and work instructions. The technician plays a key role in maintaining product integrity and supporting operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Build mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Read pneumatic and electrical schematics.
• Perform helium leak testing, cabling, module, and sub-assembly testing.
• Operate hand and power tools to complete assemblies.
• Read and interpret work instructions to ensure accuracy.
• Interact with management and team members to encourage effective communication on the production floor.
• Perform standard testing and minor and major troubleshooting.
• Ensure quality standards are met throughout all steps of the assembly process.
• Attendance is an essential job function.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/cleanroom environment or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience in helium leak testing, module, sub-assembly testing, and inspection preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience; some technician coursework and/or AA technical degree or equivalent experience.

Skills

• Related experience in a non-manufacturing environment considered.
• Cable and Harness assembly experience a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret written information and follow directions.
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to perform basic and repetitive assembly operations.
• General knowledge of operating hand tools, portable power tools, and bench tools.
• Strong attention to detail, quality-focused, and willing to learn.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to operate computer terminals and general software applications.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.

Work Environment

• Work is performed primarily in a standard manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
• Ability to move arms, hands, and fingers.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
• Subject to frequent interruptions.
• Ability to stand/sit for sustained periods of time.
• Ability to use a ladder comfortably.

Pay

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $22.79 and $34.23/hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include variable pay, discretionary awards, and a full range of benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off).
