Assembly Team Member
About the role
Performs troubleshooting across a broad range of assembly tasks in the plant. Functions include assembly, cycling, preparation for shipment, and inspection. Serves as a resource to other team members. Auto and heavy equipment skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Works from engineering drawings, including electrical schematics, pictorials, technical manuals, and station instruction sheets
- Performs troubleshooting tasks on vehicle systems such as electrical, mechanical, functional, hydraulics, fuel, power train, and suspension
- Performs functional testing of vehicles according to final inspection requirements (FIR)
- Performs assembly tasks in all stations as required
- Performs material handling tasks and moving functions using hand and power equipment
- Conducts tests and prepares test reports
- Assesses current vehicle status, noting parts to replace, missing parts, and overhaul conditions, and documents assessment information
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and diagrams
- Ability to inspect work with precision measuring instruments
- Demonstrated skill proficiencies in each of the production assembly stations and final processing functions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain good working relationships with team members and other departments
Qualifications
Required
- Works from engineering drawings, such as electrical drawings, schematics, and pictorials
Preferred
- Vocational training in vehicle mechanical and electrical component/system assembly and troubleshooting
- 1-2 years of related experience in vehicle conversion or maintenance
