Assembly Team Lead - 3rd Shift

About the role

As an Assembly Team Lead at Caterpillar, you will have knowledge of all assembly procedures, standard work schedules, quality requirements, and build requirements in your assigned work area. You’ll use various tools to perform assembly duties, including lifting devices to move heavy components of more than 35 lbs. You’ll follow and utilize CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work while keeping your work area clean and orderly. This role requires meeting deadlines, multitasking, prioritizing work, and contributing as a team member.

• Train new and develop existing employees
• Act as a liaison between team members and section managers
• Be the first point of contact for questions related to employee job functions
• Perform administrative functions and may be accountable for daily team PQVC metric boards
• Provide input on schedule/build adjustments
• Communicate with cross-functional leaders
• Rely on independent decision-making and problem-solving to complete job tasks
• Communicate potential build schedule, inventory, or manpower issues and solutions to section manager
• Perform other related work duties as assigned

Requirements

• Previous assembly experience
• Previous leadership experience (preferred)

Pay

3rd Shift Starting Pay: $25.10/hour (+8% shift premium). Summary pay range: $25.10 - $31.35/hour.

Schedule

3rd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 PM - 5:30 AM. Overtime as business needs require.
