Located close to the Michigan/Ohio border, Toledo Tool & Die has diligently served the people of both states since 1940. Founded on the principle of delivering the finest work possible for our clients, we now operate three facilities in the Toledo area and one in Pioneer, Ohio. This full-time position is based in Maumee, Ohio.
About the role
Toledo Tool & Die is adding a Second Shift Production Team Lead to support our continued growth. This role assists the Department Supervisor in coordinating safe and efficient operations to meet operational goals, and fills in for the supervisor when unavailable.
Responsibilities
- Recommend measures to motivate employees and improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Assist with coordinating activities and training of employees, including die setters, material handlers, and operators.
- Confer with supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
- Plan and establish job assignments and production sequences to meet production goals when the supervisor is unavailable.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear.
- Assist in problem solving and corrective actions.
- Assist in developing work instructions.
- Ability to sit in on interviews and disciplines when the supervisor is unavailable.
- Multitask and provide clear direction and communication.
- Train on Quality Alerts/Sign Off.
- Follow and enforce all PPE and safety protocols as outlined in the TTD handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is preferred.
- Experience with die setting in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekends, and holidays).
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and consistent attendance.
- Willingness to learn and safety-minded.
Environmental & Physical Factors
- Work will be both in a warehouse/manufacturing facility and an office setting.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional bending.
- May lift, carry, pull/push, and reach for supplies, with occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
- Capability to manage stress effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Requires organizing, prioritizing, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Schedule
- Typically 3rd shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday–Friday.
- Must be available to work overtime, including daily, weekends, and some holidays.
- Schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs, requiring flexibility for long days, occasional evenings, and weekends.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- May require travel to meetings, conferences, workshops, or other facilities.
Pay
- Starting pay of $23.00/hour.
- $1.00 shift premium for 2nd shift.
- Weekly pay.
