Assembly Team Lead - 2nd shift
About the role
This is a terrific opportunity to join the Caterpillar North Little Rock, AR team as a Team Lead on our 2nd shift team. The position includes a starting wage of $25.75/hour and a comprehensive benefit program. Openings available on 2nd shift: Monday – Friday, 3 pm – 11 pm. Overtime opportunities may be available on a voluntary basis based on business needs and with leader prior authorization.
Responsibilities
- Work in an environment that supports excellence.
- Lead your team in efforts to support continuous improvement.
- Coordinate, oversee, and monitor activities within a specific factory function in Assembly.
- Report to a Section Manager.
- Use various tools provided in the work area to perform assembly duties and may include the use of lifting devices to move heavy components weighing more than 35 lbs.
- Follow CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, Standard Work, and Built in Quality.
- Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Meet deadlines.
- Multitask and prioritize work.
- Contribute as a team member.
- Train new and develop existing employees.
- Liaison between team members and section managers.
- Communicate potential build schedule, inventory or manpower issues and solutions to section manager.
Requirements
- Resume Required
- “Expected” or greater level of performance
- Previous experience in machine assembly
- Experience working with lean manufacturing principles such as following standard work, continuous improvement, eliminating waste, 5S and BIQ
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to perform repetitive operations
- Ability to live up to 35 lbs.
Qualifications
- Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Previous Leadership experience
- Advanced problem solving/troubleshooting ability and root cause corrective action
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to read/write and interpret documents and follow standard work instructions
- Ability to retain and transfer knowledge to others
