Responsibilities
- Evaluate and coordinate daily assembly team priorities with the Production Manager to ensure production schedules are met.
- Monitor project assembly status to ensure compliance with schedules, work instructions, quality requirements, and safety standards.
- Respond to daily production issues with practical, timely solutions while maintaining operational stability.
- Identify recurring workflow issues and implement sustainable corrective actions and continuous improvement processes.
- Assist with verification of material readiness, coordination of pick-tickets, and material staging to support daily assembly priorities.
- Must be able to prioritize work and resolve material shortages, nonconforming materials, or BOM discrepancies affecting production.
- Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure clear communication and controlled execution of projects.
- Assist employees with correcting labor entry errors, time reporting issues, and job tracking discrepancies.
- Troubleshoot basic assembly issues such as parts not fitting, drawing clarifications, or tooling concerns.
- Escalate staffing, scheduling, quality, or complex technical issues to the Production Manager.
- Support training of new hires and cross training of existing employees.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma required; associate degree or technical training is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment, previous lead or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, bills of materials, and specifications.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple issues simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills with both hourly employees and management.
- Hands on, problem solving mindset with a focus on practical solutions.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for labor reporting, work orders, and material tracking.
- Must be proficient in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP Interfaces).
