Role Overview
The Assembly Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading all aspects of our Gas Turbine Engine assembly activities. The selected candidate will oversee teams of production assemblers and test technicians to produce, refine, and deliver high-quality products to customers in the aerospace, aviation, and adjacent industries. This position is responsible for fostering a team-focused work environment to achieve site and company goals and is also responsible for participating in activities to enhance the growth and development of all manufacturing operations team members in the department. This includes safety, environmental, productivity, quality, maintenance, continuous improvement, and financial performance.
What You’ll Do...
- Oversee and monitor daily operations within Production Assembly and Testing Team
- Set priorities daily based on schedule and resources by partnering with Production Control, Manufacturing Engineering, and Maintenance & Facilities
- Mid-range planning of department schedule, management of lineside inventory, consumables, and tooling needed to achieve production goals
- Lead daily team meetings to facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration
- Perform administrative duties for direct reports such as approval of weekly time cards, evaluation and approval of time off requests, and repeated one-on-one meetings with team members to develop and facilitate personal growth
- Ensure full compliance with EHS and Quality requirements, and be an advocate for our programs
- Coordinate with machine maintenance, quality, Tooling Designer, and facilities teams to schedule equipment maintenance, tool calibration, and fixture repair or fabrication
- Operate with a continuous improvement mindset and facilitate projects and initiatives to make those improvements
- Measure on-time delivery for customer orders and equipment utilization
- Provide accountability with team members to company and operations goals
- Identify opportunities for team engagement and partner with site leaders to implement
- Participate in creation of development plans for direct reports and responsible for execution of plans
- Participate in plant hiring activities including interviewing and selection
You Have...
- 5+ years of relevant experience in an advanced manufacturing and assembly environment
- 3+ years of experience in either an informal or formal leadership role, involving coaching and growing team members as well as creating a high-performing team
- Ability to develop, enable, and empower team members
- Knowledge of general business software such as Microsoft Office, ERP and/or MES systems, and aptitude to learn new applications
- Ability to understand and drive key business and operations metrics
- Demonstrated communication, analytical skills, and problem-solving aptitude
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Nice to Have...
- Advanced knowledge of metal additive manufacturing processes, technology, and equipment
- Knowledge and first-hand experience with Turbo-machinery assembly
- Experience with high-rate production and/or moving items from New Product Introduction to Full-rate production
