Assembly Production Supervisor -2nd Shift

Job Purpose

The Assembly Production Supervisor oversees daily production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality standards, and safety compliance while managing floor staff.

Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities

  • Works with all functions within the organization to drive continuous improvement and establish a culture of excellence in execution and communication
  • Recognizes and solves problems affecting operations to improve performance and quality of services
  • Plans and maintains schedules, directs the work of employees, and trains
  • Provides direction, coaching, counseling, and leadership to all direct reports to motivate employees
  • Improves performance, enhances service quality, and heightens employee effectiveness
  • Performs a variety of tasks and relies on experience to plan and accomplish goals
  • Possesses a general understanding of all areas within the organization and works with experts in those areas
  • Leads a production team to meet and exceed targets related to People, Safety, Environment, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
  • Coordinates production activities with purchasing, maintenance/facilities, engineering, and quality control to optimize team members, schedules, and production equipment
  • Engages with engineering team to utilize capacity models and assess constraints as projected demand changes
  • Performs administrative duties such as regular employee meetings, timekeeping/attendance/vacation requests, performance appraisals (input with manager), disciplinary actions, interviewing, rewards & recognition, training and development
  • Manages Production and Deliveries to target levels
  • Achieves a culture of excellence in execution, continuous improvement, and communication
  • Assists Production Manager by providing data and analysis on production, quality control, maintenance, and operational issues to determine causes of non-conformities
  • Ensures compliance to the training plans, procedures, and industry regulations
  • Supports and drives lean principles throughout the manufacturing floor
  • Maintains a safe operating environment

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Previous management/supervisory experience preferred

Must have good communication skills

Must be able to anticipate potential problems, both internal and external, to the specific department(s) being supervised

Pay

Salary Range (annual): $73,000 - $95,000

Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.

The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business, and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
