Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate advanced industrial engineering assignments usually associated with design, process improvement, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Troubleshoot engineering issues, with the help of the Quality Engineer, that arise during the Assembly process to ensure quality components are being manufactured.
  • Work with various organization units to review progress and evaluate results.
  • Develop and suggest changes in assembly processes, designs, and equipment, when necessary.
  • Create and maintain process documentation.
  • Devise new approaches to problems encountered.
  • On occasion, supervise or coordinate the work of Engineers, Technicians, Designers and others who assist on specific assignments.
  • Provide leadership and act as a role model in the areas of Quality, Productivity, Safety/Ergonomics and Training.
  • Review weekly production schedules with the Master Scheduler.
  • Organize and animate Problem Solving Groups with all the functions concerned and supplier representatives to analyze the problem, find the root cause, and define action plans by applying Problem Solving Quality Tools (PFMEAs, Poka-Yoke, and Six Sigma).
  • Fully support Customer Initial Sample submissions with correct documentation to ensure right first time acceptance for all new Service Part Numbers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, but experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Process Engineer or similar in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge with PFMEAs, Six Sigma, and Poka-Yoke is preferred.
