Essential Functions

  • Work according to operator instruction sheets and/or verbal instructions to perform operations.
  • Check products and/or component dimensions using various indicators and gauges as per procedures or work instructions.
  • Change simple parts and fixtures to facilitate product type changes.
  • Visually and manually inspect products or workmanship for defects.
  • Input data daily to maintain charts and reports supporting manufacturing, engineering, quality, material control, and sales.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area following the 5S policy in all processes, procedures, and daily activities.
  • Comply with work instructions and procedures to ensure products conform to TS16949 and ISO14000 and meet customer quality standards.
  • Suggest and implement continuous improvement programs.
  • Communicate machine issues and failures to support staff and coworkers.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred, particularly in electronic/mechanical equipment assembly or high-speed equipment operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve production goals, including cycle time, Takt time, scrap rates, etc.
  • Sufficient reading and writing skills to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
  • Basic math skills necessary for calculations and measurements.
  • Manual dexterity to operate machines and proper hand-eye coordination.
  • Visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts/products.
  • Physical strength to lift and carry up to 40 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
  • Must have acceptable scores on pre-employment assessments.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent walking.
  • Occasional standing, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, and rarely lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Plant environment. Must wear a hat, safety glasses, and steel-toe shoes while performing specific tasks or in specific manufacturing areas.
