Assembly Operator - AM Shift - R0085798

About the role

Astemo is seeking an Assembly Operator to join our dynamic team. This position offers flexible shifts, including Day Shift AM and D shifts, Monday through Thursday, with 10 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Work according to operator instruction sheets and/or verbal instructions to effectively perform operations.
• Check products and/or component dimensions with use of various indicators and gauges as described in procedures or work instructions.
• Change simple parts and fixtures to facilitate changeover of product types.
• Visually and manually check for defects in product or workmanship.
• Where appropriate, input data daily to maintain charts and reports to support manufacturing, engineering, quality, material control, and sales.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area utilizing the 5S policy in all aspects of processes, procedures and daily activities.
• Comply with work instructions and procedures to ensure manufacture of products, which conform to TS16949 and ISO14000 and customer quality standards.
• Suggest and implement continuous improvement programs.
• Communicate machine issues and failures with support staff and co-workers.

Qualifications

• A High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Manufacturing / industrial experience preferred, specifically in electronic/mechanical equipment assembly or high-speed equipment operation.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve production goals including cycle time, Takt time, scrap rates, etc.
• Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
• Basic math skills.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
• Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts/products.
• Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
• Sufficient physical strength to lift and carry up to 40 pounds frequently.

None.

Physical Demands

• Frequent walking.
• Occasional standing, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
• Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Plant environment. Required to wear a hat, safety glasses, and steel-toe shoes while performing specific tasks or while in specific manufacturing areas.
