Assembly Operator - Manufacturing Minimum Pay $22.90

Aurora Casket Company, a Matthews International subsidiary, is seeking a qualified Assembly Operator / Machine Operator for our Production Facility in the Aurora, IN area for our Memorialization business segment. This role focuses on the production and parts assembly of company products for the memorial industry.

Responsibilities

• Work with production equipment in an industrial environment.
• Operate machinery, hand, and power tools in a fast-paced work setting.
• Cross-train and learn multiple job functions within a production environment.
• Collaborate with production supervisors to operate various machinery and meet production needs.
• Determine parts to be manufactured based on orders and stock.
• Observe and maintain machinery operation, identifying defects or malfunctions.
• Multi-task and cross-train in other departments and machines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• 3+ years of previous assembly experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Mechanical aptitude; ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Physical Aspects / Work Environment

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, risk of electrical shock, and toxic/caustic chemicals.
• High noise levels in the work environment.

Pay

Competitive starting rate of $22.90 per hour.
