Assembly Operator I - 2nd shift

Responsibilities

• Operate manual, automatic, and semi-automatic microelectronics assembly equipment with specific instruction and supervision, including loading/unloading parts and fixtures.
• Identify equipment and process issues; make minor recipe adjustments via equipment interfaces.
• Inspect die and packages to internal standards using high and low power microscopes for extended periods.
• Follow defined specifications, reaction paths, or written/verbal instructions.
• Use hand tools (e.g., tweezers, vacuum pens) to manually process delicate products without damaging components.
• Measure components to within .005 inches of the standard using high-resolution measuring equipment.
• Utilize computer-based manufacturing systems for product movement and data entry.
• Read, understand, and apply technical drawings (e.g., marking drawings, assembly drawings, wire bond diagrams, equipment setup drawings).
• Escalate production issues to technical staff for resolution.
• Apply detailed specifications to production practices with close attention to detail, quality, and task accuracy.
• Maintain an organized, audit-ready work area and use personal protective/specialized equipment for safety and product integrity.
• Apply auditable 5S and LEAN manufacturing standards.
• Read, comprehend, and pass certification tests for detailed process specifications.
• Participate in audits and respond to stakeholders regarding trained process specifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 0–2 years of experience typically required.
• Must pass an eye exam for inspection certification.
• Must read, understand, and pass tests for electro-static discharge safeguards.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel: data input, cell formatting, sheet tabs).
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Comfortable working in Class 7 and 8 cleanroom environments, wearing cleanroom suits, and following anti-Foreign Object Debris requirements (e.g., coveralls, smocks, ESD straps, gloves).
• Ability to focus on precise, repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Demonstrable fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for manipulating small parts.
• Basic math skills to verify/adjust counts, correlate quantities, and ensure order accuracy.
