About the role
The Assembly Operator role involves performing routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes under direct supervision. The position is located in Coralville, IA.
Responsibilities
- Perform machine and/or manual assembly tasks.
- Soldering and computer work as required.
- Execute unique assembly processes.
- Accurately read and follow procedures, routing, and other work instructions.
- Take ownership of the accuracy of processes.
- Meet internal and external customer deadlines.
- Build parts that comply with drawing specifications.
- Comply with applicable elements of quality systems (ACE).
- Demonstrate initiative to keep processes moving and on schedule.
- Use computer tools like SAP and follow work instructions accurately.
- Achieve special process certification where applicable.
- Demonstrate a proactive role in problem-solving.
- Pursue certifications in continuous improvement (ACE).
- Interface with other functional groups to update, inform, acknowledge, or resolve problems related to production issues.
- Effectively interact with others.
- Participate in cost reduction plans.
- Participate in waste minimization efforts.
- Participate in audits.
- May be required to be on feet for long periods of time.
- Must wear safety glasses and other safety equipment as needed.
- Must be able to effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities.
- Ability to focus on safety and quality is extremely important.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Qualifications
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- In lieu of a High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Willingness and ability to work 3rd shift.
- Candidates must be willing and able to train on 1st shift for up to 4 weeks.
