Assembly Operator - 3rd Shift

About the role

MacLean-Fogg is hiring an Assembly Operator - 3rd Shift at our Farmington Hills, Michigan manufacturing facility. This full-time, hourly position involves operating mechanical production equipment, checking products for quality, and supporting safe, efficient manufacturing operations. It offers a consistent overnight schedule with a shift premium.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned mechanical equipment to support manufacturing and assembly operations.
• Inspect produced items to ensure they meet established quality control requirements.
• Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and make adjustments as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints when applicable, and follow established work instructions.
• Use basic measuring instruments to check products and support quality standards.
• Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and thoroughly.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S workplace organization standards.
• Follow all applicable safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
• Work on-site in a manufacturing environment with mechanical production equipment, using basic measuring instruments and maintaining an organized workspace.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• 0–2 years of experience; candidates without previous manufacturing experience may qualify.
• Ability to understand and interpret work instructions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Beginning to working knowledge of manufacturing equipment or production processes (preferred).
• Ability to perform assigned work under general supervision (preferred).
• Ability to address moderately complex issues and recognize when more complex problems should be referred to experienced team members or supervisors (preferred).
• After a conditional offer, successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen is required.

Pay

$17.50–$18.50 per hour, plus an additional $1.25 per hour shift premium for the 3rd shift.

Schedule

3rd Shift, Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM (consistent overnight schedule).
