Assembly Operator - 2nd Shift

The Assembly Operator role is located at Coralville, Iowa, and involves performing routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes under direct supervision. The position requires availability for second shift work.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine and/or manual assembly tasks.
• Soldering and computer work as part of assembly processes.
• Accurately read and follow procedures, routing, and work instructions.
• Take ownership of the accuracy of assembly processes.
• Meet internal and external customer deadlines as assigned by the team.
• Build parts that comply with drawing specifications.
• Comply with applicable elements of quality systems (ACE).
• Demonstrate initiative to keep processes moving and on schedule.
• Use computer tools like SAP and follow work instructions accurately.
• Achieve special process certification where applicable.
• Demonstrate a proactive role in problem-solving.
• Pursue certifications in continuous improvement (ACE).
• Interface with other functional groups to update, inform, acknowledge, or resolve problems related to production issues.
• Effectively interact with others.
• Participate in cost reduction plans.
• Participate in waste minimization efforts.
• Participate in audits.
• May be required to be on feet for long periods of time.
• Must wear safety glasses and other safety equipment as required by task.
• Must be able to effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities.
• Ability to focus on safety and quality is crucial.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• In lieu of a high school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Willingness and ability to work second shift.
