Assembly, Integration and Test Technician
About the role
The Leidos Defense Sector Manufacturing Platform Integration Facility (PIF) is seeking an Assembly, Integration and Test Technician to join their team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position offers a fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing setting with occasional overtime or weekend work required to meet production schedules.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and structural assembly of components per work instructions, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and test equipment to assemble, fit, and install parts and components.
- Conduct inspections of in-process and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare and apply surface coatings (e.g., primers, sealants, bonding agents) according to engineering documentation and process specifications (preferred).
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED with 2+ years of experience working in precision assembly, aerospace manufacturing assembly or other related assembly experience.
- Skillful knowledge of power tools, hand tools, and assembling structures with the ability to learn the integration of large structures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering documents, and assembly instructions.
- Proficient in using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP/shop floor systems.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be adept with hand tools including drills, grinders, wrenches and screwdrivers, impact rivet guns, rivet puller.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, as required.
Qualifications
- US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Costpoint/Solumina/Agile/Windchill.
- Effective Communication Skills.
- Planning/Scheduling Experience.
Benefits
Pay Range: $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
