About the role
The Assembly and Test Technician plays a crucial role in our manufacturing process, focusing on the assembly and testing of specialized valves at a bench or on the shop floor.
Responsibilities
- Assemble choke valves and boarding valves, ensuring all components are properly installed and functioning.
- Conduct hydrostatic testing on assembled products to verify their integrity and performance.
- Follow detailed assembly instructions and work orders, maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Inspect and identify any defects or issues with the assembled products, reporting them to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with other assemblers and team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production.
- Keep records of assembled products, including serial numbers and test results, for quality control purposes.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving assembly-related issues, working closely with the engineering team.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements to optimize assembly operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; preference for candidates with a technical degree or certification in a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, with the ability to work with precision tools and equipment.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently, making sound decisions under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, with a good understanding of safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Willingness to undergo training and adapt to new technologies and processes as required.
