Job Description

The Assembly & Test Technician is a senior-level skilled technician responsible for performing complex assembly, inspection, and test operations within FormFactor’s semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role requires strong technical aptitude, precision workmanship, and the ability to independently execute and troubleshoot moderately complex processes. The technician will collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure high-quality output, support production goals, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precision assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical components, including miniature parts, using microscopes and specialized tools.
  • Execute complex build processes for probe cards, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct functional and parametric testing of assemblies using established test equipment and procedures.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify product quality and conformance.
  • Identify, document, and escalate defects or non-conformances.
  • Troubleshoot assembly and test issues, identifying root cause and implementing corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Support engineers with failure analysis, yield investigations, and process improvements.
  • Make recommendations to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.
  • Accurately record production data, test results, and process deviations in manufacturing systems.
  • Maintain clear and detailed documentation for traceability and compliance.
  • Support updates to work instructions and process documentation.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to meet production targets and yield goals.
  • Participate in Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in onboarding and mentoring less experienced technicians.

Technical Skills Required

  • Strong hands-on experience with precision assembly and/or semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with test equipment, measurement tools, and inspection techniques.
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience
