About the role
The Assembler- Gas Turbine Manufacturing will position, erect, adjust, fit components, fabricate conduit/tubing accessories, and assemble flange-to-flange piping systems and other components for gas turbine units.
Responsibilities
- Install and set up turbine assembly and combustion for delivery to the customer. Includes assembly of mechanical and electrical systems related to turbine combustion and mechanical components.
- Complete alignment, calculations, and adjustments for critical to quality Turbine Components
- Training of other assemblers in 02A and 02B tasks
- Expert Gage use: I.S. mic, O.S. mic, depth mic, telescoping gage, calipers, dial indicators, multi-meter, butterfly gage, bore mic
- Operate surface grinder and calculate shims and alignment of critical components
- Outline the work of others to accomplish assigned tasks
- Inspect assembly work for accuracy and complete PGT sign-offs including customer copies
- Obtain Overhead Crane Operator License (175/200 ton capacity) and make various crane moves/assemblies, must be fully signed off within 6 months, if not already signed off.
- Participate/Support Lean Initiatives, 4D/8D completion, Pitch Attainment, and Continuous Improvement Projects, Quality Friday, etc.
- High proficiency of gaging, alignment, measurement equipment and interpreting engineering drawings, and bill of materials. Requires operating equipment for sizing dowels and grinding shims including practical test.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Perform all duties as part of a manufacturing team.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, AMP Certification or equivalent
- Experience: 3 years of mechanical/electrical experience in a manufacturing environment using electrical, pneumatic, and manual hand tools
- Previous leadership experience (team lead, coordinator, etc.)
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in milling, turning, and grinding processes. Must be able to use and read manual gauges, micrometers, calipers, and tape measure
- Work Environment: Ability to work 2nd Shift 2:45pm - 10:45pm
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and wear necessary PPE with or without reasonable accommodation. Role may require climbing and working at height
Qualifications
- Extensive expertise in the precision alignment and assembly of critical gas turbine components—ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This may include specialized knowledge in bearing alignment, casing alignment, rotor runout, unit basing, and rotor declination, all of which are essential to maintaining the integrity and efficiency of high-quality turbine systems.
- Able to perform complex math calculations and calculations for alignment.
- Must successfully pass the Assembler X Operator Test with a score of 84%, interview and pass a practical test.

Pay and Schedule
- Pay Rate: $34.706-$35.97 per hour
- Shift Premium: $1.00 USD an hour on top of base pay for working on an off shift (2nd or 3rd shift)
