Assembler/Tester 1 (End Item Assembly)

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts according to process sheet/print instructions.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, and magnetic testing as required (e.g., dielectric, meggar, hipot).
• Conduct in-process hi-pot testing and basic setup of fixtures.
• Perform vapor blasting as required.
• Perform inventory counts and verification.
• Assist with prototype or first-time builds under guidance from higher-level employees.
• Support Engineering and/or Team in developing or improving layout procedures and process sheets.
• Review expiration dates of materials and equipment to ensure compliance.
• Proactively improve efficiency and quality of products.
• Maintain good housekeeping skills.
• Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
• Cross-train other employees based on knowledge and experience.
• Compliantly complete all labor tracking documentation (written and/or electronic).
• Report problems to appropriate resources and/or Coach.
• Keep shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or setup.
• Communicate with the team to ensure awareness of new processes and issues.
• Interact with internal cross-functional teams (e.g., planning).
• Participate in and support team initiatives.
• Understand and abide by GE Leadership behaviors.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High School Education or GED equivalency.
• Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition.
• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance.
• Ability to continuously sit.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs.
• Must be at least 18 years of age due to high-risk or hazardous operations, working with chemicals, and potential shift work beyond a standard workweek.

Qualifications

• Preferred assembly, solder, and electronics manufacturing experience.
• Comfortable working with multiple chemicals and/or gas compounds.
• Experience in a self-directed teaming environment.

Pay

$19.50 per hour. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary.
