Responsibilities
- Owns and manages the KPI board
- Maintains performance board throughout the day, minimum once per hour
- Ensures 5S standards are adhered to in the area
- Manages team member assignment sheet based on known absences
- Manages cell(s) huddle
- Coordinates process/shift start-up and control
- Ensures machines, tooling, gauges, fixtures are ready
- Stocks bins
- Responds to random calls by team members
- Confirms quality – routine checks
- Covers absenteeism
- Trains and cross-trains team members
- Led kaizen events for cells
- Follows up on kaizen targets
- Facilitates small group activities
- On-going continuous improvement activities
- Ensures parts/materials are supplied to the process
- Develops hourly leads and team members
- Manages shift to shift handoff process
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications And Skills
- Related product and process experience
- Knowledge of general machining processes and tooling (beneficial)
- Associate’s degree from four-year college or university; or two years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Natural sense of urgency
- Basic troubleshooting and root cause identification capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple teams and cells
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
