About the role

Assemblers are critical to Spellman's success, creating designs crafted by Engineering to meet rigorous customer requirements and quality expectations. You will assemble chassis, racks, and top assembly units by following drawings, procedures, manufacturing instruction operation sheets, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs). Junior roles receive guidance from leads or supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Wire, solder, fabricate, and assemble High Voltage Power Supply units
  • Assemble racks, chassis, and top assemblies using schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering sketches, BOMs, ECNs, and verbal instructions
  • Build printed circuit boards and subassemblies
  • Perform rework as necessary
  • Fabricate vector board circuits and enclosures from engineering sketches
  • Work with sheet metal and polycarbonate material using machine shop hand and power tools (e.g., table/band saws, brake, punches)
  • Follow additional instructions and perform other duties as requested by supervisors or managers
  • Assist other assemblers as needed
  • Complete associated paperwork, such as configuration control travelers

Requirements

  • Prefer 3 years' minimum experience in the assembly of electro-mechanical devices
  • Prior industry experience in the Power Electronics field is highly desirable
  • Excellent soldering skills; IPC 610 Solder Certification or J-Standard a strong plus
  • Ability to identify component symbols and read technical engineering documents
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools, torque tools, and hand crimp tools
  • Frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds
  • Willingness to work overtime (after hours and weekends) as needed

Pay

Our good faith estimate of the hourly rate range for this role is $23.23 to $30.77. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors.
