About the Role
Intermediate-level position responsible for assembling industrial equipment and components with moderate supervision.
Responsibilities
- Follows all HSE guidelines
- Utilizes working knowledge and assistance for the installation of different types of major components
- Understands and interprets schematic diagrams to install components
- General knowledge of rigging and lifting components
- Operates hoist or moving/lifting equipment
- Reads tape measure and performs basic math
- Capable of tack welding
- Knowledge of hand and power tools
- Works with the team to develop improved work processes for the department
- Completes safety, production, and quality forms
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Rarely types or uses a computer and other office equipment (e.g., copier, printer, calendar, telephones)
- Frequently operates heavy equipment such as cranes, welding tools, and scissor lifts
- Participates in group discussions and meetings
- Maintains equipment and clean work areas
- Participates in continuous improvement activities
- Reads General Arrangements and P&ID drawings
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or 2 years of relevant experience and/or training (vocational or technical education a plus)
- Forklift certification required
- Ability to communicate in English
- Must meet all OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of forklift and man lift (preferred)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Physical Requirements
- Stands for at least 90% of the time
- Sits for at least 10% of the time
- Frequently inspects equipment, climbs stairs or ladders, and maintains balance without assistance
- Must communicate and respond to coworkers and emergency cues/alarms in person, on the telephone, and via mobile devices
- Lifts up to 50 pounds
- Works from heights above 4 feet
- Works in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions and un-airconditioned facilities
- Works in a loud environment
- Moves and maintains self in different positions (stoop, kneel, crouch) in various environments, including tight and confined spaces
- Wears all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, and fall protection as applicable
- Rarely requires travel or driving
