About the role

Goldshield, a Terex Corporation company located in Decatur, Indiana, manufactures fiberglass parts for a variety of customers including Fleetwood, Honda, Daimler, school buses, emergency vehicles, and heavy‑duty trucks. The Sander position is responsible for preparing gelcoat surfaces for primer and paint application in a fast‑paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Sanding gelcoat surfaces to prepare parts for primer and paint application.
• Performing sanding duties while meeting quality and quantity standards.
• Maintaining tools, equipment, materials, and supplies with minimal scrap.
• Following housekeeping and safety standards at all times.
• Supporting production needs across the sanding area when assigned.

Requirements

• Preferred: 1 year experience in sanding, fiberglass, paint prep, finishing, manufacturing, or production.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to complete required Goldshield training certification.
• Ability to maintain quality standards while preparing fiberglass surfaces.
• Professional communication skills and ability to work well with other employees.
• Successful completion of drug and background screening.

Physical Demands

• Meet the physical requirements outlined in the worksteps process.
• Work in environments with noise levels below 80 dB.
• Exposure to styrene vapor below 50 ppm and fiberglass dust.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30‑minute lunch and overtime as needed.
