Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble harnesses, cables, switch panels, circuit boards, and a variety of different electrical components.
- Use fundamental skills with various pneumatic and power tools.
- Familiarize and operate safely with tools such as drill, screw gun, sander, jig saw, etc.
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Show close attention to detail.
- Set and prioritize work tasks to meet production goals.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Maintain safety and 5S standards.
- Comply with all rules of conduct and attendance per the company handbook.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste appropriately.
- Be familiar with Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan.
- Know spill response procedures and evacuation routes.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout.
- Ability to use linear and other measuring devices.
- Ability to perform operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Knowledge of various pneumatic and power tools.
- Training in the safe operation of tools including drills, screw guns.
- Basic math skills.
- General knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
- Training in Hazardous Materials Handling Operations.
- Knowledge of Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions.
- Work with arms above head.
- Work from ladders or scaffolding.
- Stand for ten hours a day (minus specified breaks).
- Perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
- Safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.
- Understand and use protective safety equipment.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
- Work in 105-degree heat for excess of ten (10) hours per day.
- Work in noisy and dusty conditions.
Work Environment
- Near moving mechanical parts.
- Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Ambient temperature range 40 – 100 degrees, high humidity.
- Noise level in the work environment is elevated.
Education and Experience
- One year experience in a related manufacturing environment.
Personal Protective Equipment
- Safety glasses, or prescription safety glasses with side shields.
- Earp plugs.
- Work gloves.
- Close-toed shoes.
