Major Responsibilities
- Uses work instructions, drawings, schematics, electronic assembly equipment to perform assembly while complying with safe and effective operation standards of all equipment and tools.
- Follows established quality standards and participates in continuous improvement efforts (Drive to Zero).
- May cross-train in multiple assembly areas and flex to other similar departments based on business needs.
- Develops and maintains an understanding of the products assembled and their impact on the business.
- Continuously learns the principles, practices, and processes of the job as changes require.
- Participates in team meetings to exchange job-related information.
- Resolves problems with assistance from peers or supervisors depending on the level and complexity.
- May provide task-specific training to employees on work instructions/standard work as needed.
Requirements
- Experience: 0-1 year of assembly or related experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Demonstrates flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Effective communication in a team environment.
- Accepts responsibility for own actions, follows through on commitments.
- Understands and executes basic standard assembly procedures, interprets basic visual diagrams, and uses basic hand tools.
- Understands and performs basic reading, writing, math, and computer functions.
- Performs highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Acts safely while following established procedures, processes, and policies.
Experience Preferred
- Manufacturing or mechanical experience, including knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Production Environment: Regularly stands, uses hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls, talks, and hears; stoops, crouches, bends, and reaches above shoulders; lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, walking up to 10 feet away.
- Working Conditions: Seasonal variations in temperatures; occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products.
- PPE Requirements: Safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields for required tasks, and closed-toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
