Responsibilities
- Reads work orders, production drawings, and sample assemblies.
- Performs crimping, staking, screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, cementing, pressing, or fitting operations.
- Mounts assembled components on chassis panels.
- Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
- Attaches hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.
- Tends machines that press, shape, or wind component parts.
- Adjusts or trims materials to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
- Conducts online go-not-go testing and inspections to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications.
- Inspects work for quality standards.
- Packages products with appropriate materials for shipping.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to understand and follow safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to talk to others and listen to instructions.
- Understanding of basic English grammar and composition.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their operation and maintenance.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications like Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of relevant equipment and processes, such as calibration software, hand trucks, hoists, insertion tools, power drills, screwdrivers, soldering irons, wire strippers, tweezers, utility knives, digital volumeters, wire cutters, and installation of equipment, machines, wiring, or programs.
