Assembler – 2nd shift

2nd shift: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM

Pay

Assembler I: $20.75/hour + $2.50/hour shift premium = $23.25/hour
Assembler II: $22.25/hour + $2.50/hour shift premium = $24.75/hour

About the role

Assembler is responsible for performing assembly work to manufacture products in a cost-effective and timely manner while fulfilling quality standards. The Assembler I/II/III will validate material prior to beginning assembly, review work instructions, build product per specifications and within tolerances, complete all clean-up and housekeeping procedures, and comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations including wearing all appropriate PPE.

Minimum Qualifications

• Assembler I: Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.
• Assembler II: High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1 year of complex assembly or related experience.
• Assembler III: High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of complex assembly or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Assembler I: High school diploma or equivalent; manufacturing experience, including knowledge of manufacturing processes or related experience.
• Assembler II: Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system.
• Assembler III: Experience in root cause problem solving (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, etc.); experience effectively training other employees to work instructions/standard work; previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics).

Responsibilities

• Uses work instructions, drawings, schematics, and electronic assembly equipment to perform assembly while complying with safe and effective operation standards of all equipment and tools.
• Resolves problems with assistance from peers or supervisor depending on the level and complexity.
• Assembler II/III: Suggest and implement improvements of existing equipment, designs, and/or processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
• Assembler II/III: Use initiative and judgment to lead problem solving and implement appropriate countermeasures.
• Assembler II/III: Cross train in multiple assembly areas and flex to other similar departments based on business necessity.
• Assembler II/III: Provide training frequently to new employees and current employees learning new work areas on work instructions/standard work.
• Assembler II/III: Develop and maintain an understanding of the products they assemble and how it impacts the business.
• Assembler II/III: Continuous learning of the principles, practices, and processes of their job as changes require and similar jobs.
