Pay Rate:
Assembler I: $19.50/hour + $2.50/hour shift premium = $22.00/hour
Assembler II: $19.50/hour + $3.50/hour shift premium = $23.00/hour
About the role
Assembler is responsible for performing assembly work to manufacture products in a cost-effective and timely manner while fulfilling quality standards. The Assembler I/II/III will validate material prior to beginning assembly, review work instructions, build product per specifications and within tolerances, complete all clean-up and housekeeping procedures, comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations including wearing all appropriate PPE.
Responsibilities
- Uses work instructions, drawings, schematics, and electronic assembly equipment to perform assembly while complying with safe and effective operation standards of all equipment and tools.
- Resolves problems with assistance from peers or supervisor depending on the level and complexity.
- Assembler II/III only:
- Suggest and implement improvements of existing equipment, designs, and/or processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Uses initiative and judgment to lead problem-solving and implementing appropriate countermeasures.
- Cross-trains in multiple assembly areas and flexes to other similar departments based on business necessity.
- Provides training frequently to new employees and current employees learning new work areas on work instructions/standard work.
- Develops and maintains an understanding of the products they assemble and how it impacts the business.
- Continuously learns the principles, practices, and processes of their job as changes require and similar jobs.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Assembler I: Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Assembler II: High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1 year of complex assembly or related experience.
- Assembler III: High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of complex assembly or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Assembler I:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Manufacturing experience, including knowledge of manufacturing processes or related experience.
- Assembler II:
- Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system.
- Assembler III:
- Experience in root cause problem solving (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, etc.).
- Experience effectively training other employees to work instructions/standard work.
- Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics).
